Some say that dating in Berlin is an extreme sport. Interestingly, this is a rare discipline that doesn’t necessarily get much easier with practice. After a few years, you don’t need Bumble’s facial recognition tool to identify certain other users based on your own experience and maybe even to identify parts of their profile that could use an update. And then, when you manage to find a match, the age-old question of where the first date is. We came wwith a list of seven locations that can serve as a romantic backdrop for your big occasion.
Rosengarten Weinbergspark
This pretty corner near Rosenthaler Platz is an ideal starting point for a meeting. If everything suits you, there are several cool bars and restaurants that you can head to nearby. If that doesn’t go well, at least you’ll part ways with a well-connected area so your trip home doesn’t take too long.

Mauerpark
Mauerpark, the long-standing base of all Berlin tourist guides, has an undeniable magic. You can experience it by sitting among the lavender on a hill overlooking the park. There is even a chance that you will hear some live music.

Engelbecken
Engelbecken may be an option for you if you need a break from the Landwehrkanal, but not from Kreuzberg. The change of scenery between the two is real – but if you’re not repelled by the flower beds, you’ll probably like it.

Kolonaden
The Museum Island colonnade might be a bit touristy, but after all, it’s one of Berlin’s most remarkable settings. It also gives you a chance to appear cultured by reading up on all the museums and then effortlessly incorporating your newly acquired knowledge into your conversation.

Märchenbrunnen
Märchenbrunnen, which is located in the Volkspark Friedrichshain, is arguably the nicest place in the whole neighborhood. The beautiful architecture surrounding the fountain will surely add to the aesthetic value of your walk.

Körnerpark
If your date has never been to the Körnerpark before, it is impossible that they will not be impressed by this charming park located a short walk from the bustling Hermannstaße. You can sit on one of the benches or throw a blanket on the grass and enjoy the picturesque surroundings while still having the option of a quick retreat into the city jungle.

Rosengarten Humboldthain
The Humboldthain Rose Garden can be a good place for a first date, especially if hiking is a part of your common interests or / and you both live in Wedding. You might also want to take in the city views from the massive war bunker located in the same park.
