If you’re a horror fan and looking for a German series worthy of a frenzy for the upcoming Lockdown 2.0, we might have a recommendation for you. Check out ‘Hausen’, the new horror series available on Sky – especially if you agree that giant East German apartment buildings have something monstrous about them.
The creators of “Hausen” decided to go beyond the haunted house concept and place their spooky tale in an entire building, with key scenes shot in a Plattenbau in Berlin. Naturally, the huge multi-story building with its inhabitants allows the series to function as an intricate maze of separate horror stories.
We follow the protagonists – 16-year-old Juri and his father Jaschek – as they slowly move in and become entangled in the disturbing environment. As if meeting the creepy neighbors wasn’t scary enough, it soon becomes apparent that the old apartment building itself seems to have a life of its own – and that it doesn’t come in peace.
