A Tel Aviv Double Pack in Berlin: Shani and her Restaurants Yafo & Shishi

One of the most rewarding parts of running iHeartBerlin is getting to know some of the most interesting people in Berlin. Over the years, I have been able to connect and make friends with designers, musicians, talented artists, as well as with entrepreneurs, event creators and creatives with fantastic projects. They have all contributed greatly to what makes iHeartBerlin unique and inspiring for so many others. And I am happy to be able to support them with my platform and to connect them with collaborators and audiences.

For our iHeartBerliner interview series, we sat down with one of these inspiring people from Berlin: Shani Ahiel, owner of Shishi and Yafo. We talked to her about running two restaurants in a male-dominated food scene, living in Berlin as an Israeli, and much more. Shani shared with us her experience of starting a business in a foreign city, how life here feels compared to Tel Aviv and what interesting meetings she has had because of her restaurants. Enjoy the video below!

Note: We recorded this interview in 2019, so Yafo is now 5 years old and will soon be moving to another address in Mitte.

Shishi, Ritterstr. 12-14, 10969 Berlin-Kreuzberg

Yafo, Gormanstr. 17b, 10119 Berlin-Mitte

(Note: Yafo will change address at the end of August 2020)
