Asterix: a new animated film but without Alexandre Astier – Actus Ciné

M6 studio has just announced the launch of a new Asterix animated film.

While Asterix & Obelix: The Middle Empire is a hit in cinemas (the film totaled 1.88 million admissions for its first week in theaters), Philippe Bony, the general manager of M6 Studio comes to announce to Figaro that a new animated film devoted to the famous Gauls was about to see the light of day.

But unlike the two previous opuses, Alexandre Astier will not be there. The animated film will be directed by Alexandre Heboyan, already co-director of Mune, Le Gardien de la Lune and written by the duo du Prénom, Alexandre de La Patellière and Matthieu Delaporte. The budget for this film is 30 million euros.

Released in 2014, Asterix – Le Domaine des Dieux written and co-directed by Alexandre Astier and Louis Clichy attracted 3 million viewers to theaters. Four years later, Asterix – The Secret of the Magic Potion, by the same duo, totaled 3.96 million admissions.

As a reminder, Alain Chabat, to whom we owe the hit film Asterix & Obelix: Mission Cleopatra (14 million admissions) is currently developing an animated series called Le Combat des chefs for Netflix.
