Over the past couple of years, the Berlin music scene has cooked so many amazing things that we are always delighted to stumble upon new talent with songs that blow our minds. It feels like Berlin really has its musical moment now, and the artists who are based here are last gaining international recognition during the Bowie era.
Danish speaker brand – SOUND BOXES – is as in love with the future musicians of Berlin as we are, which is why they are hosting the Payment sessions this month in a variety of cool venues across town, providing much-needed live music experiences.
The concept of this new series of events disrupts the classical live concert. Instead of typical concert halls – these will take place in cool creative spaces, instead of large crowds – there will be intimate gatherings that allow guests to truly connect with the musicians. It will be like a party with friends, but even better with upcoming local artists performing in a cool venue.
SOUND BOXES invited us to organize one of the events of the Payment sessions. We’re very excited about it because it gives us the chance to finally invite our favorite Berlin artist to play: Lie Ning. We have featured his amazing music on multiple occasions in our Music Stories since his debut last year, the international music press is all over him, and he has taken the city by storm with his incredible live performances. It is truly an honor for us to have him play our Payment session this Sunday, September 13e at Hallesches Haus.
All events will be unique and carried out with great love for detail and appreciation for each of the musicians. You can expect performances from Leepa, J. Lamotta, Kikelomo & Melis + Special Live Act, and more. Here’s a quick look at the series of events. Be sure to register early for free tickets, as space will be limited to accommodate current distance and hygiene measures.
Leepa at Ju Schnee Studio
Friday September 11, 6-10 p.m.
For the first Payment session young Berlin singer Leepa will perform at the exhibition of multi-media and sculptural artist Ju Schnee during Berlin Art Week. It’s a match made in heaven!

iHeartBerlin presents: Lie Ning at Hallesches Haus

iHeartBerlin invited the multitalented Berliner Lie Ning to perform songs from his debut EP at Hallesches Haus – our all-time favorite place in the city. Join us for this special occasion!

Kikelomo & Melis + Special Live Act at Goldies
Thursday October 1st, 6-10 p.m.
The fourth Payment session is going to be tasty and groovy with the unstoppable DJ duo Kikelomo and Melis spinning their records with a Special Live Act at the French fries deluxe joint Goldies in Kreuzberg. It looks yummy!
