I review a ton of new video games every year. So when one sticks with me long after I’ve defeated it, it’s a sign of a really great game – doubly so if it’s a AAA release. This is not always the case with the games I have given the highest and lowest marks; This can happen with any game. A good example of this is 2023 Star Wars Jedi: Survivors. I gave the game a four-star review in April, and it ended up being one of the most memorable games for me in 2023, a year that featured a lot of great games.

Like its predecessor, Survivor It’s inspired by Metroidvania and Soulslike titles when it comes to gameplay, but the scope is much broader. The majority of the game takes place on the planet Koboh, a massive world filled with areas and secrets to explore. Difficulty and accessibility options also make the game as easy or hard as you want; Survivor Can provide awesome Jedi fantasy or gruesome action game experience. In a year full of great sequels, this is another follow-up that improves on its predecessor in all the right ways.
Although its gameplay is entertaining, the story Survivor Explains why the game has stuck with me months after launch. The game’s ending is one of my favorite conclusions of the year and evokes more powerful emotions than I expected. It’s been over half a year since I turned on the credit SurvivorWhenever Star Wars comes to mind, I still think about this game in particular to a great extent.
Survivor is a massive AAA game that’s part of a franchise you probably recognize. Those surface-level qualities alone already make it a good recommendation. But even though it wasn’t as widely recognized as the sequel at The Game Awards Baldur’s Gate 3, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the KingdomAnd alan wake 2, Know that from a narrative standpoint, this is one of the most engaging AAA experiences you can play this year.
