Step into a time machine of the senses and transport yourself back a century to the “Goldener Zwanziger” or Golden Twenties, of Weimar Berlin. Let yourself be intoxicated by the smoky and sweet decadence of Berliner Luft, and pay homage to the legendary Weisse Maus. Die Weisse Maus 2022 comes from the creative minds behind The House of Red Doors and some of Berlin’s finest performance artists, chefs, musicians and sommeliers.

Die Weisse Maus is a totally immersive dining experience inspired by Weimar Berlin from Billie Rae, one of the founders of Bad Bruises, and her dedicated team. We’re no strangers to the world of Billie Rae here at IheartBerlin; we presented several Red Doors House evenings, covered Wilden Renate’s tomorrow installation, and I wrote on the red box of sin, the peep showlast summer.

We are happy to announce that Billie Rae has never stopped creating spaces for us all to connect with our most sensual sides. Bad Bruises, the collective that created The House of Red Doors, was put to bed in 2021 and from its ashes was born LUNACY BERLIN. The new collective started at the end of last year with House of Madness – Outer Spacean intergalactic journey through the Salon Zur Wilden Renate, and The Midnight Society, “a private club hosted by the great Madame of the Maison des Portes Rouges”, joined Luniverse on Halloween. Next up for LUNACY BERLIN is Weisse Maus, a theatrical dining experience that will transport you to another century.

Die Weisse Maus pays tribute to the infamous club of the same name, one of Berlin’s most notorious late-night venues during the Golden Twenties. Renowned for its exclusivity, this precious cabaret had just 98 seats, and guests wore masks to hide their identities as the club hosted some of the loudest and most bawdy entertainment in town.

The infamous Anita Berber and her dancers of the damned frequented the cabaret stage. Her performances broke antiquated taboos with full nudity, references to her drug addiction and bisexuality, which dominated local gossip at the time. Essentially, his performances celebrated all of our favorite strains of hedonism. “Now, exactly 100 years later, we pay homage to that era of creativity and art of Berlin’s modern libertines and free spirits,” says Billie Rae.

Billie Rae’s Weisse Maus combines the cabaret experience with a 3-course meal. prepared by an award-winning caterer Ricarda Farnbacher and features a unique cast of characters, eager to fill Anita Berber’s sinful shoes. The show is directed by Billie Rae and features many names familiar to LUNACY regulars such as Cherry Martini Fur (The Lady), Lori Baldwin, Black Bishop, Frenzied Evilyn, Juliet the Doll, Dunja Von Kand much more.

“It took so long to prepare,” says Billie Rae. “We are desperate to keep the magic alive in the city at this time.” And while the next House of Lunacy party, originally scheduled for late January, has been postponed due to COVID-19 restrictions, the show must go on, and Weisse Maus will debut in February. Berlin may not be able to dance right now, but we can still have dinner!

Unlike many other Lunacy events, Weisse Maus is not a party or sex party. “This is a performance-based event created for food and theater,” says Billie Rae. “However, recurring themes will be strongly gender-positive and queer, highlighting the diversity of the city of Berlin, its subcultures, and the trials and strains of the Weimar era. is essential. The event is restricted to adults 21 and over.

To keep the Die Weisse Maus fantasy alive, guests must come dressed in costumes inspired by the Weimar era. You can choose between a vegan or meat-based dinner. 2G+ entry requirements will apply.

Weisse Maus will be held at a secret location on February 25 and 26 with more dates to be added soon. Tickets include a 3-course meal, but extras such as an oyster entrée and night cruise to the venue are available at an additional cost. This once-in-a-lifetime experience is nearly sold out, so be sure to get a ticket soon.
