Poinsettias are one of the staples when it comes to Christmas decorations. The flowers come in a variety of colors including red, white, blue, pink, yellow and so on, giving creative people opportunities to make fun and festive things. But when you do not have access to real flowers, crafting a few blossoms is a great idea, which is exactly what I did.
Red poinsettia wreaths for Christmas can be found everywhere, but white ones are often missing from the action. Therefore, I created a bunch of white paper poinsettia flowers for my Christmas wreath and the result was exhilarating. Let’s see how it goes:
Material Required:
- White paper
- Wire wreath frame
- Scissors
- White glue
- Silver glitter
- Hot glue gun
How to Make Paper Poinsettia Wreath for Christmas
Time needed: 20 minutes.
- Draw the petals
Fold a white paper sheet four times. Find a template online or go free-hand to draw petal patterns in two different sizes on the paper.
- Cut the petals
Once the petals are drawn, cut on the outlines to make tiny leaves. One folded paper will give you several petals in one go. You can cut as many as you want.
- Separate the petals
Line up all the small and big petals one by one before you move on to the next step.
- Shape the petals
Take the cutout petals and fold each of them in the middle to give them a beautiful look.
- Glue the big ones first
Begin making the flower by gluing eight big petals in symmetrical whorls.
- Layer small petals
Then repeat the process on small petals and glue them onto the big ones.
- Create the pistil
Now is the time to create the middle part of the flower. Apply a generous amount of glue in the middle and sprinkle glitter on it.
- Apply glue to petals
To make glitter stick to your petals, apply white glue in an uneven pattern on them.
- Dash with glitter
Place your flower on a plate or a piece of paper and sprinkle it with plentiful silver glitter.
- Poinsettia flowers are ready
Repeat the process with all the petals and create as many sparkling white poinsettias as you want.
- Arrange the flowers
See which flowers have made the cut to adorn your wreath and group them as per your requirement.
- Finalizing the wreath
The last step is to glue the white poinsettia flowers one by one onto the wire frame. And there you have a glamorous paper poinsettia Christmas wreath.
