No need to be a manga player, nor an unconditional Japanese anime, to know Demon Slayer. Broadcast since 2019, the series quickly established itself as one of the great successes of Japanese animation, thanks in particular to its quality animation which sets it apart from other productions of the same kind.
A first derivative film that broke all records!
Demon Slayer is the adaptation of the manga signed Koyoharu Gotōge, sold more than 150 million copies worldwide. We follow the story of Tanjirō Kamado, whose family is decimated by a demons attack. Only her sister survives, but she is transformed into a creature. The young boy therefore decides to do everything to save Nezuko from this curse.
Four seasons of the anime have emerged, as well as a feature film entitled Le Train de l'Infini. Released during the COVID period, the film had broken all the records of the Japanese box office, by becoming the most seen film of all time in the cinema with more than 28 million admissions! In France, the film also met with success, with nearly 660,000 tickets sold.
A mixture of genres that has attracted the general public
The publication of the manga ended in May 2020, at the end of its volume 23. After the four seasons already broadcast, the series will end on television but in the cinema via a trilogy of films entitled La Fortress infinite; The first part will be released in French cinemas on September 17.
The anime Demon Slayer has managed to seduce both action fans and those attracted by fantastic and horrifying universes. This mixture of genres has stood out from other Shônen productions, and attract a wider audience. The series has also managed to make itself known thanks to its broadcast on generalist platforms, and not only via specialized streaming services.
But unfortunately, the first three seasons of Demon Slayer will soon leave the Prime Video catalog; The Japanese anime will no longer be available on Amazon from June 11.
