As you may have heard, Sony has released a PS5 Slim Edition, and we’re already starting to see it on the market. In fact, if you want to buy one right now, Walmart is selling the PS5 Disc Slim Bundle with Modern Warfare III for just $500. This essentially means that you get MW3 free as part of the bundle, and even though it’s not that highly rated, it’s still a free game that you wouldn’t get otherwise, so it’s worth picking up.
Why should you buy the new PS5 Slim?
The new PS5 Slim Edition doesn’t actually have any performance upgrades and isn’t like the PS5 Pro we saw with the PS4, although that may be coming at some point in the future. Instead, the PS5 Slim makes the overall size smaller, with an 18% weight reduction for the disc version, a more impressive 24% weight reduction for the disc-less version, and a total 30% increase in size for both, which This is also quite nice, especially if you live somewhere that doesn’t have much room for a huge PlayStation. That said, they each get a slightly larger 1TB of storage instead of the usual 825GB; That’s not a huge amount, especially with how big games have become these days, but it’s not bad either.
As far as Modern Warfare III, included in the bundle, it doesn’t have very positive reviews overall, but if you don’t have a PS5, it’s still a great game to start with, and you can get it Essentially getting it for free, just like the PS5 Disc Slim model’s standard price is $500. Luckily, the gunplay and visuals are still as good as ever, so if you’re interested in that experience, MW3 is still an excellent game. On the other hand, if you’ve always liked previous Modern Warfare campaigns, this one is shorter and not as spectacular as previous campaigns, which is fair, considering how high of a level it requires to clear. There are also some UI and audio stuttering issues, but those are mostly release issues that will likely be ironed out.
Overall, this bundle is mostly about grabbing one of the new PS5 Disc Slim models, with MW3 additionally included, which is always a nice little addition. You can pick up the bundle from Walmart for $500, or you can take a look at some of the other PS5 deals, or general Black Friday deals that are currently running.
