We can’t really understand how amazing Berlin is right now, all covered in snow. It has been really uplifting the last few days, especially when the sun has poured into the mix. We really needed it. It made us realize how long it had been since Berlin was blanketed in snow like this. I certainly don’t remember when the last time it was like ages.
But if we go back far, we will find that snow in Berlin was more common. Browsing through historic photos, we found many beautifully captured moments of Berliners in the snow. As you know, we also love to include the history of Berlin on the blog, whether it’s the city divided in 1981, the naughty nightlife of Berlin in the 1920s or this very iconic colorized video of post-war. There is something about having an eye on the past that allows you to appreciate the present more and look forward to a possible future of our beloved city.
With scenes of snowman building, sleigh rides, snow shoveling and frolicking through the beautiful white wonderland, we all feel dizzy to get out there and capture as much of the fun as possible. We all know it can melt at any time. Enjoy the snow!
