After weeks of speculation, Disney+ has finally confirmed the simulcast of the second season of the Japanese anime “Tokyo Revengers”, this Saturday, January 7.
Fans had lost all hope of seeing the second season of Tokyo Revengers land in France in simulcast. And yet, Disney+ has finally confirmed that the Japanese animated series, taken from the manga by Ken Wakui (22 volumes available from Glénat), will be broadcast every week on the platform, starting this Saturday, January 7.
Tokyo Revengers follows the story of Takemichi Hanagaki, an uneventful young employee whose life changes the day he learns of the death of his former girlfriend, killed during a brawl between rival gang members. Following an accident in a metro station, Takemichi is transported to the past and is offered the extraordinary chance of being able to change the course of time and thus save Hinata!
Many fans of the series were worried that no French broadcaster had been announced for this new season, raising fears of a delayed release compared to the Japanese broadcast. Fortunately, this will not be the case, and for its first major acquisition in terms of anime, Disney + strikes a huge blow.
Remember that the platform does not intend to stop there, while it seems that the latter has also acquired the rights to broadcast the new anime Bleach: A Thousand-Year Blood War (currently broadcast in Japan).
Could this be the start of a romance between Japanese animation fans and the Mickey Mouse company?
